Renee Palmore Beaman, RN
(“Nurse Nay”) has earned notable recognition as the Founder & Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Outreach Center (BGOC), Delaware’s highly acclaimed faith-based HIV/AIDS prevention and outreach program. Under her administration, the Beautiful Gate Outreach Center has created over 25 programs that service thousands of Delawareans, including an on-site medical clinic in partnership with Christiana Care Health Systems. She has received numerous awards for her work with those affected by and infected with HIV. She has traveled twice to South Africa and also to Sydney, Australia, where she lent her expertise to staff and clients. Renee has been a leader in many areas, as a certified Pediatric and Cardiology Registered Nurse; she was the first nurse of color to hold the position of Intravenous Nurse at the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Paget, Bermuda and also the first African American School Nurse for the Colonial School District. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and was a 2008 inductee into the Hall of Fame of Delaware Women. Renee is a native of Niagara Falls, NY. She is also the wife and partner of 25 years to the Rev. Dr. Silvester Beaman, Senior Pastor of Bethel AME Church, Wilmington, DE, mother to Asaiah & Kori and “Queenie” (grandmother) to Maliah Renee.
